Expert Witness Services

Consulting Services

BDO Consulting has often been retained on behalf of a party in a litigation matter as a complex damages consultant. Our work in this role begins with gaining an understanding of the issues in dispute. We then work with counsel and the client to develop a strategic approach to address the complex damages issues. Frequently, our professionals assist with the selection of an appropriate testifying witness—either from BDO Consulting, industry, academia, or specialty consulting firms—and work with counsel to prepare the witness for hearings. Often we assist by preparing various analyses and discussing the strengths and weaknesses of each party’s damages analysis with counsel.

We also assist counsel in preparing for the depositions of the opposing party’s damages expert and, if requested, attend the deposition in order to provide further assistance to counsel. We also assist clients in evaluating settlement offers.
